One of a run of shows around his native Kent, see Tom Fleur at Margate's Where Else?
Doors open 7pm, starts at 8pm
Having cut his teeth in a number of London guitar bands throughout his twenties, Tunbridge Wells songwriter Tom Fleur decided to strike out on his own and go solo after a period of reflection during the first COVID lockdown.
Armed with a hard drive full of demos and a desire to make the music he always wanted to make, he enrolled on a masters degree in Popular Music at Goldsmiths University, London. For the final project he wrote and recorded a body of bittersweet indie pop songs about love, mental health and masculinity, drawing musical inspiration from The Stone Roses to Aretha Franklin.
Working with producer/ tutors Sean Woodlock (Alexis Taylor) and Mikko Gordon (Idles), he was encouraged to take risks and find his own style, and developed the confidence to self-produce the collection.
In the last year, alongside his five piece live band, he has played shows at Where Else in Margate, Paperdress Vintage in Hackney and supported Home Counties at the Tunbridge Wells Forum.
This is a 16+ event.
