Bios
Becca Thomason is based in Margate and works in the arts and comedy scene. She is the co-founder of Chump’s Comedy, a night dedicated to showcasing comedians in Margate.
Becca’s primary job is Head of Programme and Executive Producer at Hackney Empire, a variety venue in East London, where she oversees a diverse range of productions.Additionally, she is a freelance programming consultant at Kiln Theatre, West London, helping broaden their programme from theatre into comedy, book launches, talks and spoken word.
Cllr Raushan Ara, District and Town Councillor. The former Mayor of Ramsgate for four years is also an established business owner for 36 years which she runs with her husband. Mother of two children she is a community champion and enjoys cooking and walking.
Marion Armstrong is 80 and was diagnosed as autistic in 2017. Marion worked as an engineering draftsperson and retired in 2008. In 2018 she started the group 'Invisible Women', curating a number of exhibitions in Margate. She is currently studying for a Fine Art degree at UCA in Canterbury.
Sophie Clissold-Lesser moved to Ramsgate in 2023 having (semi)retired from corporate job and now volunteers in a local charity shop and is an active supporter of cultural events in the area. An experienced charity trustee across several sectors over the last 20 years, Sophie is a board member for Power of Women Thanet, Charity Mentors Kent and Medway, See Me Play and The Ramsgate Society.
