Phil ‘Swill’ Odgers is well known as singer and acoustic guitarist with award-winning UK folk rockers The Men They Couldn’t Hang. He is also a formidable, well-loved and prolific solo artist in his own right. His songs tell life stories with and a heart and a conscience.
He has appeared (with The Men They Couldn’t Hang) as special guest to Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, Billy Bragg and David Bowie. Guests on his solo albums include Eliza Carthy, John Jones (Oysterband), Sid Griffin and Mick Thomas.
Earlier this year he released the highly praised folk hit album ‘Far Rockaway: the songs of Phil Ochs’ with John Kettle (Merry Hell) and his most recent solo album ‘GHOSTS OF ROCK N ROLL’ went straight to #3 in the official UK Folk Charts and #1 in the Amazon Folk Rock Chart.
