Live music at Where Else? in Margate
Doors open 7pm
Having released 3 LPs and a handful of tapes under various names since 2009 (most prominently Hungry Cloud Darkening); Nicholas, Allyson and Paul continue their evolution as a deeply collaborative recording project who sometimes tour with blips and stretches of personnel overlap with fellow Pacific Northwest island based musics Mount Eerie and LAKE.
Their newest album 'Diminished & Transmitting' seems to be the natural progression of the three now 30-somethings continuing the thread with no outside pressure or illusions of where it might lead, exercising their strange luck to be able to avail themselves for such tinkering in small town Anacortes, Washington.
One might safely infer broader influence from groups like Yo La Tengo and American Analog Set. Member Nicholas Wilbur also runs a recording studio called 'the Unknown' a big old centenarian church building which not only serves as New Issue's creative space, but has attracted artists like the Softies, Sumac, and Dean Johnson.
