St John's, Margate, are delighted to welcome visitors to this historic church again this year as part of Heritage Open Days.
There is a special Eucharist service including re-dedication of the bells by Archdeacon of Canterbury, Dr. Will Adam, at 10.30am on Sunday 8th September followed by a Community Lunch (to which all are welcome).
From 12 noon to 4pm the church invites all who are interested in the heritage of the building and the more recent history of the congregation to join them..
The local community has worshipped on this site for nearly 1,000 years and the current congregation are working together to prepare for the next 1,000 years at the heart of this community.
The church and facilities are accessible for all.
Join a free tour of the church by local historian Robin Colyer at 2pm.
Tower Captain Simon Friend will demonstrate the bells with the help of fellow bell ringers.
David Lammler, our gifted organist, will entertain visitors with organ interludes.
The community are invited to share their memories of St John's.
Refreshments are available to buy in the pop up cafe in the church from 1pm to 4pm.
