1pm - 4pm
5 miles easy walking via St Augustine's Cross and the Viking Ship.
Learn about saints, scholars, Vikings and powerful princesses.
The Augustine Camino is the popular walking pilgrimage which has featured on Radio 4 and in the national and specialist press. It links the Cathedral cities of Rochester and Canterbury with Pugin’s gothic masterpiece, the Shrine of St Augustine in Ramsgate. Along the way pilgrims have the chance to stay in medieval Aylesford Priory, attend Evensong at Canterbury Cathedral, visit Minster Abbey and enjoy the many lovely villages and churches along the route.
The Camino has been designed with the modern traveller in mind. The whole route can be completed in a week, averaging ten miles a day, leaving lots of time for sightseeing, meeting fellow travellers and quiet contemplation. Alternatively, the route divides into day walks which are all accessible by public transport.
Official feeder route to the Camino de Santiago.
The paths are not suitable for wheelchairs or prams.
