Curated gift shop The Store Collective has moved to a permanent home on Hawley Street (previously Bounty) in Margate Old Town. The store offers a treasure trove of gift ideas from local makers alongside a wider curation of independent businesses from across the UK and Europe.
Run by Margate’s Kate McKenzie and Charlee Piper, The Store Collective is an edit of makers & designers that champions thoughtful spending, or to ‘Shop with Purpose’.
There’s a focus on handmade, hand designed and products that are sustainably made in Britain, all from independent business that are filled with personality and authenticity.
The store features a rotating lineup of Thanet and Kent based artists and makers, many of whom contribute to the running of the shop at weekends. Local partners include Alex Foster Illustration, Turquoise Gem Home, Castle Farm, Inky Acorn Designs, Medley Design Studio, Fat Pom Poms, Nwanne Home, Fawn & Thistle, Charlee Piper, Emma Crane Art, Megan Metcalf and By The Seashell.
Joining existing stores Margaux, Number 32 and Scissortail, The Store Collective arrival cements the Hawley Street Quarter’s reputation as a must-go destination for boutique shopping in the town.
