Located on Ramsgate seafront opposite the old Granville Hotel close to the Granville Theatre.
Grade II listed (classed in 1973) sculpture in pink and grey granite or Dolomite marble by sculptor Owen Hale, was placed here in 1879 by the entrepreneur Edmund Davis in memory of Edward Pugin who died in 1875. Edward Welby Pugin was the son of Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin, and a well-known local architect in his own right.
The energy and vigour of this portrait bust convey the main characteristics of the younger Pugin.
