The decorated cast iron gate on Harbour Street, installed December 2021, marks the gateway to the town centre from the harbour, aiding pedestrianisation of the area.
Ramsgate Town Council invited young people to enter a competition to design the gate, with 48 submissions received.
The winning design by Lily Headley (aged 17) reflects the town’s heritage, incorporating the lighthouse, an RNLI lifeboat and fishing vessels.
