Ellington Park, Ramsgate just a few minutes walk from the town's train station and High Street area is a hidden gem.
Ellington Park was laid out in 1893 on land once part of the estate surrounding Ellington House. The park was designed by the Victorian landscape company Joseph Cheal and Son, known for their work at Hever Castle and Kirkstall Abbey.
Today, many of the heritage features of the park remain including trees, which dapple the rolling slopes of the park, it is a well-used and loved feature of community life - a great place for families, dog walkers or to sit around enjoying a picnic.
See the renovate bandstand, keep young ones entertained in the wooden play area, spot the wood carved birds around the park, head to the cafe for refreshments or browse the shipping container bookshop.
Wooden sculptures created in 2014 by Steven Andrews, Tribal Animal Chainsaw Carving using old tree stumps to create. Carved wooden sculptures to spot around the park
Look out for events including May Fayre and Christmas Fayre throughout the year
