Current exhibitions of the history of HMS Thanet and the Battle of Margate 1387 (the English ‘liberated’ the French wine fleet and hence ‘Merrie England.’) The old Court House had the police cells below it which housed Sidney Fox who murdered his mother and went on to Maidstone for execution – read all about it!
The Trust for Thanet Archaeology will be displaying material from the recent excavations at Margate Caves alongside Droit House on Sunday 16th September
