We are pleased to announce Thanet Visitor Information Centre in Margate has been awarded GOLD in the Visitor Information Service of the Year category of this year’s Beautiful South Awards, operated by Tourism South East.

Our Visitor Information Centre team in Margate are able to respond to face-to-face, telephone, email, and social media enquiries 10am-5pm daily in April. May opening Tuesday to Sunday plus bank holidays and daily during half term

* Broadstairs Information Kiosk, on promenade at Chandos Shelter: 2024 season from Friday 29th March until Sunday 29th September, daily 10am-4pm.

* Ramsgate Visitor Information Centre, Customs House: April to September, Monday - Saturday 10am - 4pm; October to March, Monday - Saturday 11am - 3pm.

How we can help...

Our Visitor Information Centre serves the whole of the Thanet area. We offer information and advice about visiting Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and the surrounding villages. We also hold information about attractions in Kent, London and the South East.

Our range of services includes:

Stocking a selection of free Maps, guides, magazines and leaflets for the local area & region
Giving information and advice about local Attractions, including Walks, Activities, and Events
Information and advice about local Public Transport, including maps and timetables
Advice and information about local Quality Graded Accommodation for your stay
Safety advice and information for Beach and Coastal Path users, and Dog walkers, e.g. about weather and tide times
Coach Booking and travel information service for National Express and local Coach companies offering Day Trips, short holidays, etc.
A friendly Souvenir and Gift shop, selling a range of cards, books, and seaside-themed ornaments and homeware, much of which is produced or designed in Thanet and wider Kent
Hire of Coastal Explorer activity bags (£5 a day) for family days at the beach
Selling Radar Keys, Tide Timetables, & Stamps
Ordering service for out-of-area brochures and guides
A Water Refill venue - pop in and get your water bottle refilled
A Bag Drop service for £5 per bag, per day (see below)

Thanet Visitor Information Centre Access Statement (click here to view) . Droit House has a side entrance with a ramp and automatic door, making it accessible to wheelchairs, pushchairs, and those with limited mobility.

Bag Drop Service

If you're still exploring the Isle but need somewhere to store your luggage, our Visitor Information Service (The Droit House, Stone Pier, Margate, CT9 1JD) can help!

Here at our Centre, we can hold your luggage for £5 per item, per day. Just bring your items in, and we'll keep them secure, allowing you more freedom to discover the area.

Our Bag Drop service is on a first-come-first served basis and is dependent on capacity.

Other Information Providers

Broadstairs has an Information Kiosk on the promenade. There is also another kiosk located at Lillyputt's Mini Golf, which holds a range of local leaflets.

Ramsgate has a Visitor Information desk inside The Customs House, which provides literature and advice about the area.
Meeting Room & Function Room for hire

‘The Drum’ meeting space at Droit House is the ideal location for meetings, training facilities and private events, as well as exhibitions.

The flexible and multi-purpose space can accommodate up to 40 people theatre-style or up to 15 people in boardroom-style.

It can be used to accommodate presentations or a unique event. The room is equipped with WiFi, projector, screen, laptop and hot drinks machine.
